The La France and Italia Selections are two portfolios of premium French and Italian wines imported by Cascade Trade from artisan producers throughout the respective countries. Our properties are small, they are family owned and they produce only limited, sometimes minuscule amounts of wine. Typically, they are neglected by large importers due to insignificant amounts of wine that are not suitable for national distribution. But, that’s where we come in! From the beginning, Cascade Trade has supported and provided distribution for small, family-owned wineries both domestic and foreign. We are firm believers that the little guys make the best juice! No one will ever convince us that the best wines come from a million case producer versus someone who makes just a few hundred. We also believe that the small producers deserve to be heard! But unlike large, wine manufacturers, they rarely have marketing budgets to spend on magazine ads and TV commercials. We believe that true wine lovers are growing tired of the hype associated with manufactured wines and that they yearn to embrace the story and the experience that only true, artisan-style wineries can provide. Cascade Trade looks to the small producer with endearing gratitude and appreciation. Because of their passion for tradition and their long history of winemaking we admire them and we are honored to work with them. We share their passion for good wine and the true fun for us is to be able to share their fine wines with you. The wines in these two portfolios are about only one thing - “good” wine! They reflect all that is wonderful about the art of making wine. These wines are rich with passion, as well as flavor. They are true to the grape and to the earth from which they came. These are wines to be enjoyed for the moment - they are not about scores and fabricated press, though most receive awards and accolades every vintage. They are not meant for collecting dust in someone’s cellar (though most will age very gracefully) nor are they found on every grocery store shelf. These are wines that reflect the passion, hard work and commitment of the people who make them. Every bottle tells a story and every vintage tells a tale - about the season, about the earth, and about someone’s life - isn’t that what wine is all about? |
