| Coopers Creek |
|
|
Coopers
Creek sits in the heart of the Huapai and Kumeu wine region, about 35km northwest
of Auckland. It is an area steeped in tradition and home to some of the oldest
established vines in New Zealand. Coopers Creek is undoubtedly our largest New
Zealand property at Cascade Trade but that doesn’t mean we are compromising
any elements of quality. What it really means is that we are able to get great
quality wines for much less than what you can find Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot
Noir selling for from other New Zealand properties. Cooper’s Creek is still
a family-owned winery but they own a great deal of property in the best growing
areas helping to bring the cost down compared to wineries who are buying their
fruit through various contracts. All this estate vineyard property means that
a whole lot of diversity is also available. Coopers Creek also makes Pinot
Gris, Viognier, Merlot, Cab Franc and a number of other fun wines. |

| Foxes Island |
|
Prior to the taming of the Wairau and Opawa Rivers, Foxes Island offered a small,
dry haven in times of flood for herdsmen and travellers. Today, Foxes
Island is the site of John Belsham’s Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vineyards.

| Fromm |
|
Fromm wines have reached cult status in recent years and continue to be rated
as one of the hottest wineries in New Zealand. George and Ruth Fromm moved
from their native Switzerland to New Zealand and planted their first vineyards
in 1991. Hatsch joined Fromm Winery as winemaker in 1992. Although
he has no “formal” qualifications in winemaking, Hatsch says, “The
foundation of my winemaking career is the love for great wines. Up to the
age of 30, I had neither a car nor a driver’s license; but always a healthy
wine cellar…I do believe in Einstein’s wisdom that experience is
knowledge while everything else is just information.”

| Isabel Estate |
|
Located in the heart of Wairau Valley, Isabel Estate is one of the largest privately
owned estates in Marlborough. They aim to produce true Estate wines, those
produced only from vineyards under their total viticultural control. Isabel
Estate endeavors to make “inspired wines that are a strong expression of
the individual style and character as determined by the vineyard soil and site.”

| Jackson Estate |
|
In 1901, Adam Jackson grew wheat, oats and barley on the rich riversilt
soils of Marlborough’s Wairau Plain. Today, his great-grandson
John Stichbury produces some of New Zealand’s most lauded wines
from thatsame soil. The massive gum tree pictured on the label still stands - an
emblem of the family’s long link with the land.

| Seven Terraces |
|
Seven Terraces wines are produced by renowned winemaker John Belsham in the Marlborough
region. The fruit is sourced from a combination of John’s own vineyards
in the Awatere Valley and selected growers throughout Marlborough. This
unique label was inspired by John’s spectacular vineyard in the Awatere
Valley upon which seven terraces overlook the river. The hawk on the label
represents the ever present guardian in the vineyards chasing away the constant
threat from the grape eating bird populace. John likes to think of the
hawk as his unofficial mascot.
