Quinta De Aveleda
Located in the heart of the Vinho Verde region of northern Portugal, evidence shows that the Quinta, or winery, dates back to the 16th Century. It has been owned by the Guedes family since 1947 and it continues to be a family run business that is committed to making world class wines at affordable prices. The Guedes family has also been very instrumental in pioneering viticultural research by working with new, drought resistant vine clones. The Aveleda Vinho Verde is a crisp, dry, aromatic white wine that is fermented entirely in temperature controlled, stainless steel. It is very low in alcohol and therefore works brilliantly as a starter wine with appetizers, shrimp or antipasti. Charamba is a blend of the classic Port varietals - Touriga Nacional, Touriga Francesa, Tinta Roriz and Tinta Barroca. It is aged in Portuguese oak barrels for 6 to 9 months making for a rich, full-bodied red wine excellent with grilled meats and rich sauces.
